What are the essential functions of your role?
I help whoever calls me with a question about retirement plans: employers, financial advisors, participants, and even employees at PAi. I also help make sure 401(k) plans follow the government rules.
What’s the most challenging aspect of your role?
I would say that the level of busyness that occurs during the months of January and February—when we work on reconciling the prior year. Maintaining a work/life balance can be a challenge during this time, but I do really appreciate how well our leadership recognizes this, and they work hard to support us and keep that time fun.
How would you describe the culture at PAi?
I would describe PAi as having an employee-centered culture. We incorporate fun, productivity, and common sense into our everyday work. I’m grateful for the people that I work with and the leadership at the helm of this company.
What sets PAi apart?
PAi is the first job I’ve had where my achievements are celebrated and my feedback is both wanted and taken into consideration. There is no drama between the different departments, teams, or between leaders and employees.
Except for Gary……Gary and his 3 year-run wining the chili cook-off. It’s rigged, I tell you! Rigged!! #DefeatGary2019
What’s the next item on your bucket list you hope to check off?
I just checked off a huge item by moving 1,000 miles south! I think next up would be participating in an obstacle race like Tough Mudder or the Spartan Race.
What does your ideal retirement look like?
I may be the odd duck in that I can’t imagine retiring. Ever. I’m picturing myself in my 80s and 90s still saving for retirement and helping others do so as well!
If you could have any one superpower, what would it be and why?
I would like to have the power to control time. So many applications! To use during those times I say something really awkward or I could go back to a favorite era to observe history.
But this super power would have to be paradox-proof and I would be unable to affect any major events in history.
Did you know there used to be a street named after Chuck Norris? They had to change the name, though, because no one crosses Chuck Norris and lives.
